Email Deletion in Outlook!

Hi:
I use Outlook 2000 for Win. Recently I have been experiencing a never seen
issue when I open and read newly arrived emails. Once I close the message, it
gets deleted permanently from the Outlook environment and can not see/find
anywhere? I do not understand if the issue is due to a virus, configuration
or....? Please help. Thanks a lot.

Click View>Current Vie and tell me what's checked.

Check your "View" settings - that it's not set to view unread messages
only....
