Email Blocked by locking computer

Hello

I have a little automated program that sends a zipped file using outlook at
a set time.

What I would like to know is if the computer is in locked mode will the
automated program still be able to send its file.

i don't see why not
when the workstation is locked, the applications are still running in the
background; locking it only prevents user interaction
