Have you tried finding a file called "attach" within your
email client's folder? I don't even have to save them, they
are just there. Of course, if your settings are to delete
attachments under certain conditions, they may not be there.

I would have expected default to be 'My Documents' folder.
If you can't find attachment that you've saved then try sending yourself a
small attachment, click 'save attachment and see where it defaults to
(should allow you choice).
