When I try to open some word attachments in emails I get the message: "this
file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel". I've
tried doing this in default programmes but not sure how I can do it. All my
other attachments open, it's only word. I have office 2007. Any ideas? As
you can probably tell, I am quite new to this. Thanks.

Save the attachment to the hard drive.

Double-click the saved file. When it prompts for which program to use
click on the choice that lets you decide, then locate the WINWORD.EXE
file and double-click on it. It may be in the Program Files|Microsoft
Office directory (folder). Or do a search for it beforehand, so you can
locate it when prompted.

Thereafter, Vista should know that .doc files are associated with WORD.

I don't know what word has to do with as I don't really understand much
about using computers. But I have same problem only with some email
attachments.

I don't know how to save files so I need a step by step instruction from
when the error message appears if anyone could help with that it would be
great.
