email alert on the welcome page

I beleive I am running v4.7 of msngr. I have WIndows XP
Home Edition. I downloaded an update to Messenger, and
now on the welcome/login screen under my name it tells me
how many unread email messages I have in my Hotmail
Inbox. I personally would rather not have that
information displayed on the welcome/login screen. Help
me make it stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To remove it download the TweakUI powertoy:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp (see on the right).

After you have TweakUI installed, click Start, All Programs, Powertoys for Windows XP, and
choose TweakUI for Windows XP. In the TweakUI window, on the left, click the '+' next to
Logon, and choose Unread Mail. Uncheck 'Show unread mail on Welcome screen' and click OK.
