Email address is showing instead of the contact name

I get emails in my in-box from people in my address book, but for about
half of them, only the email address is being shown, not the contact
name that I have stored for them. I don't want it to say its from
(e-mail address removed) I want it to say its from John or John Doe. How
do I change it so the email address of the sender is not shown for
emails I receive in my inbox from people in my address book.
Any input is greatly appreciated!
