email address in signature

My signature includes my email address. When I view and edit the signature,
the email address appears in grey (as I have formatted it, along with the
rest of the signature). However, whenever I send an email, the email address
in the signature appears as blue and underlined - just like a hyperlink. How
can I keep the original formatting in place? Thanks!
 
Sounds to me that you send the email in Plain Text which of course drops the
formatting.
 
I'm sending them in HTML.
Plus the formatting on all other parts of the signature (my name, phone
number, etc) is preserved.
 
I have office 2007.
Sorry, I can't figure out which is the email editor. I've combed through
the options but I'm just not seeing it.
