Eliminate Outlook from desktop

I want to take Outlook access away from several users on an XP system. The
Outlook icon cannot be deleted. How do I get rid of it?

Yes, you can remove it from the registry;

However, this will not prevent users from accessing it in another way.
You can set a Group Policy which would disallow them to run several
applications such as outlook.exe.
