Eliminate Login on bootup

Since my last Windows XP update last week, I get the Welcome screen whenever I boot up. I then have to click on the Owner icon to complete the bootup. I'd like to get back to booting directly up to XP without seeing the Welcome screen. All the solutions I've seen so far deal with changing users privileges or logons but nothing on eliminating the need to do anything. Can someone help me with this?
Thanks,
Lynn

Hi Lynn,

You probably installed the .net framework, and this update creates a new
user account (which you can delete) and causes this issue. Start/run
"control userpasswords2" (without the quotes). Uncheck the box requiring a
username and password, click apply/ok and follow the prompts to set up a
default logon.

Thanks "Nutcase". your suggestion did the trick. At first though, I tried to do it without entering a password. That didn't work. I did have to create a password in order to eliminate the Welcome screen. I've been trying to solve this problem for about a week now. I'm pretty happy now.
