eliminate doublespaced???

First off I am a beginner still don't shoot me for asking, these kind
of questions. On occasion I receive e-mails that are doublespaced, I
would like to forward them without doublespaced. I have cut and paste
to word, and need to find the procedure for eliminating
"doublespaced". I have word 2000, and Microsoft word 97, please help.

If, when you paste them into Word and apply Normal style, they still appear
"double-spaced," it could be because they have extra line breaks. Displaying
nonprinting characters (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm) will help you
determine this, and the article at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/CleanWebText.htm will help you get rid
of them.
