Elevator Bar Misbehaving

Yesterday my elevator bar started double and triple paging when I click on
it. I'm using an HP Omnibook 4150 with the Synaptic Touch Pad installed. I
tried reinstalling the touchpad driver to no avail. I fail to find anything
in settings which might correct the problem.

Any suggestions?
