I am unable to run DragonDictate unless i disable UAC. Unfortunately,
everytime I reboot UAC resets itself. So, I need to un-tick in 'users' reboot
and start all over again. I ask two questions. Can I remove UAC permanently?
How do I get my program to run with UAC on?
I am the sole user of this computer and am the administrator as well.
Should i sign on as another user. I really am at my wits end here.
Help will be appreciated

Right click the program icon and select "run as administrator".

You are not the administrator and will never be. Administrator is an object.

You can temporarily give yourselves rights to perform some operations as if
you were Administrator, yes. Your power still will be limited. Actually you
do not need more than that.

In order to do what you want you will have to open "Local Users And Groups"
GUI (either typing lusrmgr.msc in Windows\system32\ -- do not forget to open
Command Prompt as "run as Administrator" - take a notice!!!) or if you have
Home or Home Premium you should go thru Control panel> System and
Maintenance>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Local Users and Groups.

Open up thumbnail Groups, open up Group "Administrators" (nb: it is plural)
and you will see the object "administrator" in there. Add yourselves to this
group. Close the GUI.

You may have a somewhat easier life from now on but it may not be enough.
You may also need to establish yourselves as a person who has the right to
write into certain folders if you want. Go to that folder, left
click>>Properties>>Security tab>>Edit>>Add>>type in your name>>Close that
window, Check checkbox "Full Control">>Apply>>OK.

seems to make no difference. Even if right click and "run as
administrator" nothing happens. It seems I shall continue having to untick
the UAC whenever it becomes necessary. Thanks we will apply.

thank you for your reply. It seems a little hazardous to me and too
complicated for an old man! I will just remain with my present "fix" of
un-ticking UAC in users when it becomes necessary.
It is just a nuisance to have to wait a seven or eight minutes that takes to
reboot the computer after doing so. Thanks anyway. Maybe someone will
finally find a way of permanently removing this ridiculous user control that
Vista has added. From what I've been reading hardly anyone is pleased about
having it and it certainly slows any computer down tremendously.

You will regret your decision to turn off UAC one day. Mark my word. It is
for your protection.
