EIDE vs. PATA

Discussion in 'Microsoft Windows 2000 Hardware' started by Patrick Whittle, Feb 6, 2010.

  1. Can a PATA drive be put into a computer that is currently using IDE? Is the
ribbon cable the same with both drive-types?

See the Wikipedia article for a description of PATA. IDE and PATA are,
these days, just two ways to say the same thing.
