How do I enable the EFS for my system. I have windows XP
home. When I right click a file, go to the general tab,
then advanced, the part that allows me to encrypt the
file is no enabled. What do I need to do to make it work?

EFS is not available in the Home edition of XP. You'll have to buy
the Pro edition to encrypt files.

Hi Tony!
EFS is enabled by default in Windows XP Professional. Users can encrypt
files if they have permission to modify the files. As EFS depends on a
public key to encrypt files, users need a public-private key pair and a
public key certificate for encryption. EFS can use self-signed
certificates, but EFS does not require administrative effort before use.
Note EFS feature is absent in XP Home version.
