A couple of points:

1. You encrypted the files on a network share, so the encryption took place
on the server and that is where the EFS certificate/key are--not on your
desktop.
2. You should be able to access the network files from any network-connected
machine using the same user credentials (via kerberos) that were used for the
encryption.
