Effective Setting Under Local Security Settings

I open Local Security Settings on Windows 2000 Professional. Under Account
Policies, Password Policy, Minimum Password Length, Effective Setting, the
password default is 6 characters. Is there a way to change the password
default effective setting?

Thanks.

You can use GPEdit.msc to define the Local Group Policy settings. However, I
believe that yours is defined at the domain level in which case, will
overwrite whatever you have defined on the local computer. To change the
effective value, you will have to change the value defined at the domain
level (typically the Default Domain Policy group policy).

Thanks very much for your quick response. I'll post the questions again if
I have any more questions.
