In Word 2003, when I block text and press delete, I am asked if I want to
delete block in the lower left corner of the screen. This is a new
phenomenon. I used to just be able to delete what I blocked.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two
boxes for WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.
