Editing Registry -- using Regedit or Regedt32

T

I ran a Regfix program on my that turned up many unrelated files in my
registry. It listed them for me, but would not remove them without a
substatial subscription.

Since I know which files are superfluous, can I go through the Reg
myself and remove them?

Should I use Regedit or Regedt32?

Can I backup the files I remove in case of lap-top kiniptions?

I'm hoping for a yes to the first part. Thanks in advance.

Hi

May I suggest that unless you know exactly what you are doing in the
Registry, you leave it well alone. You're not even sure how to access the
Registry. I would also suggest that you allow XP to manage the Registry for
your system - it does a good job all by itself.
