Editing Access templates - permission error message

Hi,
I love, love. love the contact management template in access (2003). I want
to update it with my info, but when I click around in the database, I get
error messages that I don't have permissions. I've tried adding myself in
permissions, but it won't allow me. I've tried copying the database as well
as importing the tables, et al to a new database, same permission problem.

I'm assuming the templates are their to use and at least review. Am I
missing a step?
