editing a saved MM2 project

When I re-open a saved MM2 project containing multiple clips and images, it
opens as one single clip - adding hours and hours to the process of making a
few simple edits. What am I doing wrong?

Are you referring to a .mswmm project file
or a completed .wmv or .avi movie file?

The .mswmm project file is the one you would
use for additional editing.

seems like you're bringing in a saved movie, not opening a saved project
file....

To continue editing, do I open the file that has the MM2 icon?

To continue editing, do I open the file that has the MM2 icon?

Yes. When you are ready to continue editing...
you open a .mswmm project file. All you have
to do is double click a .mswmm file and it
will open in Movie Maker ready to edit.
