editing a copied file

I copied a file from a disc i took from my old computer. it is a two fold
brochure on a template. when i try to edit the new file, the changes appear
in red font. i "accepted" the format changes, but it remains in red. it
prints red and everything else is black. i'm also getting a vertical line
next to the area changed. it looks like it could be part of a dividing line
between the 3 columns of text. not sure. any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Clicking on the Track Changes button enables or disables that
feature. To get rid of the changes that were tracked while the
feature was enabled, you must click on the "Accept All Changes in
Document" command on the Reviewing toolbar. See
