edited word doc. email 2 me, saved now can't find?

I received a word document thru email. I edited the document, hit save and
closed out of word. I later went back to retreive it and it is nowhere to
found? Any Idea where it could be?

It may still be in the user temp folder of Windows, but more likely it has
now been deleted by the operating system. If you edit an attachment
directly, you are only editing a transient temporary file. You should always
save attachments to the hard drive and open the saved versions for editing.
That way you wont lose them.
