How do you create a button from a picture and put editable button text on it

With a graphics program like Photoshop or any of its less expensive competitors.

when you say editable do you mean so you have 'blank' buttons and you want to add
your own text within frontpage?

Which version are you using, there are different methods - interactive rollover
buttons or something in FP2003 and the java applet hover buttons in FP2000/2002.

Otherwise you have to create your buttons in a graphics program (wth the text you
want) and save as gif/jpg - if you need to change them you have to re-edit them
in the graphics program and re-save them under the same file name.

You can't edit text on a normal graphic within frontpage unless you use the
hoverbuttons or interactive buttons in FP 2000/2002/2003. Apparently you can
apply an image to the button like a background, instead of using the default
rollover effects (with the hoverbuttons anyway).

Java hover buttons are no longer recommended ... some IE browsers can't
'see' them!
