edit web page in word

I want to edit web pages with word 2007, but the pages open as read-only so I
can't save any changes. I have the password so I do have authorisation. I
have checked the help and tried to click on open file instead of open as read
only but it doesn't make any difference. Is there some option I should change
Hope you can help

Try this Julie. After you open the file, click on the office button and
click on "Save As...". In the Save As dialog box you will see the word
"Organize" immediately above the Favorite Links. Click on Organize and
scroll down to "Properties". Uncheck the "Read Only" box and then click
save. You now should be able to edit the web page.

Hi thanks for your reply.
I tried this and it took away the read only but it said that Word did not
save the file.
Also if I open the web page then click on edit with microsoft word in the
file options the message says convertor could not open the file.
I have been doing it this way for ages on my laptop .
Could you help with this
Julie
