Please help!!!!

This is the first time I have used this program. I have added text to some
of the slides and now I want to take them off. I have tried simply selecting
the slide and going to the edit menu but, it does not work. It does not even
give me that option.

Please tell me what to do.

Right click it in the time line and choose delete.
