Edit local phone number is contacts

S

supergama

I have recently added a new contact with a local number.
However Outlook 2000 added the internet connection phone
number as the area code. I have deleted the contact and
shutdown and restarted and when I again add the contact
with that phone number it does the same thing. I have
read that help but have not found where to delete area
code for local phone numbers with this exchange.
Help!

You can't change the way Outlook masks phone numbers. It is hard coded.

.
How do I save the local phone number without another
entire number in front of it?
I want this number in: 344-1234
What I keep getting is: (3793650) 344-1234
The number in () is my internet server number. No idea
how it got there but there it is. I have deleted the
entire contact and shutdown the computer. However when I
re-enter the number it comes back. There must be a way to
get rid of this mistake.
Help!!

Sounds like your dialing location is not set correctly. Check it.

what the hell is the reasoning behind this???

what about those of us in 7 digit areas who do not need the
area codes added????????

what about when we import 7 digit numbers from other programs?

who are the jackarses who coded this program? did they
realize that people may live in parts ofthe country or
world other then where they might have made this program?

this is just silly, see ya later Outlook...
