edit list of available PowerPoint design templates

When I call up the available PowerPoint design templates, the task window
includes duplicates of many of the available templates. As far as I know,
the duplicates link to the same file locations. How do I get rid of the
duplicates?

Ira,

If your computer is like mine then you should check here:

C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Office \ Templates \ Presentation Designs

The templates are not on my C: drive; further, I have no access to C: because
our IT folks have locked it down. Documents and Settings, however is
accessible because it is on the D: drive. I was unable to locate any
editable PowerPoint info, however.

Those pesky IT guys, OK try this:

Documents and Settings \ Your profile folder \ Application Data \ Microsoft
\ Templates

One more idea in case that last one still locks you out.

From within PowerPoint go to FILE then NEW. The side menu should pop out on
the right hand side of the screen, and then select FROM DESIGN TEMPLATE. Next
look at the bottom of the side menu for BROWSE. That will open the APPLY
DESIGN TEMPLATE window that your workstation is accessing and you can delete
duplicates from within it.

If that doesn't work I'm out of ideas.

I appreciate your advice. The problem is not duplicate design template files
(.POT files) - it's the menu of available design templates. Duplicate
listings link to the same "physical" POT file.
