edit assigned task

we use following configuration: exchange 2003 on windows 2003 server,
clients are windows xp with office 2003
my question:
I assign a task to another person in outlook, but I can't edit this task
anymore. Is it possible to change this behaviour? Can I edit task in the
other way? I want to write some notes later.
