ECS KT600-A ??????

Any experiences with a an ECS KT600-A? Good or Bad?

I swore no more ECS boards after my K7S5A, but I need a cheap board for
light to medium use for my tweenager kid (schoolwork, educational games,
some graphic work, but not a workhorse machine or heavy gamer). I wanted
another ASRock K7S8XE+ but I'll be hanged if I can find anymore out there.
It appears that I can get the ECS KT600-A with an XP 3000+ 400FSB and fan
for $153US and can use the 3000 in my main machine and put my old Duron 1.3
in the ECS board for the kid.

My last ECS had issues with being picky about RAM and a flakey CMOS and such
and don't want a repeat of that, though.

What about Syntax SV400 or SV266AD (I can get the latter with a 2600+@266
darned cheap, but it's a poor third choice)?

Any other good deals out there with an XP3000??????

Hmmmm... not sure if a lack of experiences posted is a good thing or a bad
thing :)

I can't answer your questions about the KT600-A, but I have used a K7S5A
with an XP1700+ for two years with zero problems. Perhaps I have just been
lucky. I am knocking on wood for continued luck.

I haven't had a terrible time with my KT600-A. I bought it for th
same reason. A slot motherboards don't have a great deal o
expandability, but I just needed a home computer upgrade from m
previous computer

I have had DIMM slots that were tricky for the DDR RAM. Some say tha
DDR400 doesn't work even though it says it does in the maunal

I am having troubles installing off the CD, though. Could be th
CD-ROM
