Hi,
My system has been crashing shortly after startup for unknown reasons.
I have finally figured out the cause of the crashes. I went to the
msconfig program and by process of elimination figured out an Epson
start-up printer driver? called E_S4I2K1 for the RX500 printer is
somehow causing the crash.
I then went through and systematically removed every epson program I
could find using add/remove programs. The problem is I am still having
my computer crash and the start-up item is stil listed on the msconfig
start-up program list. Any ideas on how to permanently remove this
start-up program?
When I have this start-up item disabled the computer works fine but
when it's activated the computer crashes shortly after start-up.
Before removing all Epson pgms I also downloaded and installed what I
thought was the most recent driver for this printer from the Epson web
site and the computer still crashed when I enabled the E_S4I2K1 driver
line in MSCONFIG. (PS, using the stop codes hasn't helped to diagnose
the problem.)
Thanks,
Chet
