e-mail virus?

Today, I started to notice that I was getting multiple copies of one e-mail.
Though they all appear to have been sent at the exact same time, I got them
more gradually than that. I got four of them so far, all identical. I was
about to notify the sender that they may have a problem, when I noticed
three copies coming in of another e-mail from somewhere else - same
symptoms.

Soon after, I saw an Outlook dialog box, like a send receive, and it said
something like 17 our of 529. It came and went so quickly, I could not
recall what it said. I just updated my virus defs with Norton and scanned
and it said I was clean. I had e-mail scanning off so, do you know if the
normal full scan would have still scanned my e-mail and outlook?

Does anyone know what this might be? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Grace

Nope, it is empty. I haven't noticed any problems in the last 15 hours.
Any idea what could cause the symptoms I saw. Isn't it unlikely that two
high-profile sites would both get the kind of virus that would cause them to
send me 3 and 4 copies of their e-mails within an hour of one another?

Thanks,
Grace

It could have been a mailloop; 2 autoreply features answering eachother. It
sounds like the admins have got it fixed now.
