e-mail messages

Am searching for a file/location or place on the C: drive
where my e-mail messages are being kept. Am familiar with
the Outlook Express mail Inbox, addresses and files
folders which I created. I would like to make a backup
of all my messages.
Thank you.

Outlook Express file/export is fine if you want to Export to MS Outlook or MS Exchange. But, if you
want to do really something with them. First, Control Panel/Folder Options/View tab/Check Display
the contents of system folders Show hidden files and folders UNCheck Hide protected operating
system files/Apply/OK. Now do a Search for *.DBX looking for wherever you store your messages.
Or; OE/Tools/Options/Maintenance tab/Store Folder button/right click the little window/Select
All/right click the little window again/Copy. Start/Run/right click the little window/Paste/OK.
There is your OE Store.
Mine::
C:\Documents and Settings\WESLEY P. VOGEL\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{Your unique ID
# here}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\SAVED MAIL (1).dbx
Copy them wherever you want.

For OE Backup, have a look here:

Don't overlook the three buttons at the bottom.

For DBXtract, have a look here:

Just right click on your Inbox and choose properties, it will give you the
location for itself and all other message folders. For the address book,
open it and click on Help and about address book, for it's location,
couldn't be easier.

Norm;
Thanks for the tip about the Address Book location. I knew where it was located, but not how
easy it was to find with Help/About.
