What do I need to do to attach .jpg files to e-mail such that they are not
included in the body of the e-mail message? Also I'd like to know whether
attached .jpg files can be resized so they are of a viewable size if they are
included in the body of the e-mail.

How to do almost anything in an E-mail message depends on what program you
use for E-mail. Since you haven't told us, it's hard to answer without
guessing.

Also I'd like to
know whether attached .jpg files can be resized so they are of a
viewable size if they are included in the body of the e-mail.

You can resize jpg files as desired before attaching them. There are many
programs which will do this, for example, the freeware irfanview.

Format the e-mail as plain text. Resize with a graphics editor.
