E-mail attachments

When I attach a PDF file to an outgoing e-mail it is received as a .dat file.
This happens to everyone I send this type of file to. Could it be my Norton
Internet security program?

Not likely. Make sure you're using Plain Text or HTML, not Rich Text, as
your message format.
