Does anyone know if there is a way to send attachments only to the main
recipient and not carbon copied recipeints>

No. I would send the email without the attachment to everyone and then send
a second message with attachment to the actual recipients you want to receive
it.

I am looking for the same answer. Basically as you see below, the answer is
no. I do not agree with the reasons. The entire globe is sending letters with
and without attachments to the different addressee, just with the proper
distribution list.
I hope, that the e-mail system will be available shortly with attachments
distribution yes/no, and all party (To: Cc: and Bcc :) will know who is
getting the e-mail and attachments, and who is getting an e-mail only. At
this time, it looks like is double work for us, with big attachments.

Below are some of the titles and dates of relevant questions. There are more
Outlook users looking for an answer to this question in the past two years.
Subject: send e-mail with an attachment to someone w/no attachment, 6/18/2007
Subject: Send attachment to primary but not cc, 2/16/2006
Subject: Controlling Attachment When Sending E-mail, 4/11/2005

Good luck.

I don't know any POP/SMTP clients that allow what you want because during
the SMTP send process, there's no difference between the various types of
senders. It would require a two-phase sending process. You could make a
lot of money, perhaps, by writing a client that handles it.
