E-mail Attachements on Outlook 2003

When opening attached word documents they all open on word pad mode. I then
have to save them and open them by opening MS word first. This happened after
I had upgraded to office 2003.
 
What extension shows in this registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/msword

Also, what program is pointed to by the application/msword value in this
registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Viewers
