E-Mail association to a Contact

R

Robert@Beck

I would like to know if there is a way to have an e-mail i send out
automatically associate itself to the contact it matches in my outlook
address book? I would ultimately like to be able to goto a contact and see
all e-mails i have sent to or recieved from that contact in a list format
without having to do a search function in my inbox.

that function exists already - tell us your version and I'll tell you how to
see it.

Dear Judy,

Thank you for the response,
My version is as follows: MS Office Outlook 2007 (12.0.6023.5000) to be
specific

In 2007 open a Contact that you are sure you have recently sent/received
email with.

On the Show chunk of the ribbon, use the Activities button. Wait a while.
You'll now see a link to all items relating to that person which are in your
default mail store (eg your Mailbox if you are on Exchange)

Click a link and you'll open that item.

Another good trick is to use the Contacts lookup window from anywhere in
Outlook. It's in the standard toolbar - a white window. Type Gleeson in it
and hit Enter and it takes you to my Contact card. So if I ring and want to
discuss the email I sent you yesterday, the fastet way to find that email is
to use the lookup window and then the activities button. I hope you like
that trick!
