New to Vista- when I type an e-mail to a contact that is in my address
book/contact list, it won't come up automatically if I haven't used it in
a
week or so. If I have been contacting that person regularly, it will come
up
with the first letter of the address, but otherwise I have to go to the
contact list and find them. Any suggestions as to how to fix this?
When you open Windows Mail and there is a welcome page, check the
box on the lower left side that says not to open this page again..
First thing I would recommend is to set up your Mail in the
following manner which should make addressing messages a
whole lot easier then typing them in.. I've recommended this
to several family members and friends and they find it cleaner
and easier to use Windows Mail.
Open Windows Mail and select VIEW - then LAYOUT
Uncheck all but FOLDER'S BAR, TOOLBAR and STATUS BAR ..
also uncheck Preview Pane..
This leaves an open message area and press (click) INBOX in the
grey area under the tool bar. This will open the view area of the
other folders, ie., Outbox, Sent, Deleted, Drafts..
Then open NEW MESSAGE and select VIEW - Check ALL HEADERS
which will put the Bcc: in the message format to include multiple
addresses in the Blind Copy box..
When you send a new message, click on the TO: (another button) and
it will bring up your address book. Just double-click on the addressee's
name and it will go into the To: column or Bcc: column automatically.
You won't have to type any addresses that way.
If you receive an e-mail message from someone you want to add to your
address book (Windows Contacts) just right click on their address and
save to the list.
