E-mail account mistakenly removed and sent mail history is gone

I mistakenly removed an e-mail account and found that all my non-archived
sent mail was gone (i was able to recover the inbox from my Yahoo-mail box).
Is there anyway to recover this?
 
what kind of e-mail account was this? POP3 or Exchange Server account?
did you have a *.pst file? did you get any warning messages before you
finished removing your e-mail account?
