I have FP 2003 and want to add dynamic text to website on my PC. All I
have found within FP was the marquee under Insert Web Components. Do I need
to install something or change a Browser Compatability setting?

Thanks,
Susan

Thanks, I went to FP 2002 and found the Dynamic HTML under format, but what
good is it if IE 6 gives the warning about restricting active content? Is
it best to forget about Dynamic HTML now? People should be cautious! Thank
you for your link but I think my security settings inteferred with it
working.

Susan

What is it you're trying to do that is being restricted? if it is doing
mouseovers or changing link colours - I see no harm in that sort of stuff - it is
not "malicous" coding.

Perhaps it is a setting in IE6 itself.

All I was trying to do was have text "Want to Teach?" fly in on page. But
IE6 settings warn about active content!

INTRODUCTION
The Internet Explorer Information Bar is a new User Interface (UI) that is
included in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). The Information Bar
is displayed when potentially dangerous actions on a Web page have been
blocked. The Information Bar appears between the toolbar and the content
window in Internet Explorer, and it is similar to the notification area in
Outlook 2003. The notification area in Outlook 2003 informs you of blocked
content. The Internet Explorer Information Bar in Windows XP SP2 replaces
many of the common dialog boxes that prompt you for information, and it also
provides a prominent area for displaying information that you may want to
view or act upon. Examples of dialog boxes that have been replaced by
Information Bar notifications include blocked ActiveX installations, pop-ups
windows, download processes and active content.

Important You can turn off the Information Bar in Internet Explorer by
lowering the default security settings. However, we strongly recommend that
you leave these security settings at their default level or higher. The
default security settings in Internet Explorer are designed to help protect
your computer from viruses and from attacks over the Internet.

Are you testing on your own PC, or from the internet? IEs security settings
are different for these cases.

If on the PC, try , in IE:

Tools->Internet Options - Advanced Tag
Scroll down to the Security Section

Tick the box for "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer"

but think about why that restriction may have been placed there.
