Dynamic Disk

Dan

Is there a way to create a dynamic disk under 2000 Server
before I load the OS? Here's why. Our server has run out
of disk space and the primary drive has been converted to
a dynamic disk. There is more room left on the primary
drive but 2K will not let me expand the partition because
it said it was not originally created as a dynamic
partition.

Hi Dan,

The Windows 2000 setup process does not provide the functionality for
creating a dynamic to install Windows onto. Please review the following
Knowledge Base articles for more information about Windows 2000 setup and
dynamic disks.

Additionally, if you are only looking to extend a partition, then the
diskpart.exe utility may be a better option. Please see the following
Knowledge Base article for information on downloading and using this
utility.
