DWT and Meta Tags Frontpage 2003

I just started to use a Dynamic Web Template in Frontpage 2003 and have a
couple of questions regarding use of META TAGS.

Are you supposed to put the site Keywords, Description and Title tags in the
main template? If I do this, every single page that the template gets
applied to has the same exact meta tags. This of course makes sense as they
are pulling from the template, but is this what most people are doing when
they use dynamic web templates?

I typically only have meta tags in the index.htm file and that is it.

Will I run into any strange problems by manually editing say my index.htm
file to have different meta tags?

Each page that you want indexed, should have a set meta tags the are unique
to the page or at least the section of the site they appear in.

You can set up the DWT have a editable region for the enter unique meta tag.

I just found that if I do not enter any meta tags in the DWT, I can then
edit them manually on the actual .htm pages. Is this the correct way to do
it?

Yes, if you want them to be unique.
