DW20.EXE

I just re-installed Windows XP Pro and when I shut down the system I keep
getting the message that DW20.exe has failed to initialize because the
system is shutting down. I have to wonder why it wants to initialize when I
what to shut down.. I do know it is a MS error reporting program and I don't
mind sending any error reports to MS, but I don't want to keep getting this
error message. Right now I have disabled the program by simply renaming it,
it can't intilialize if the system can't find it :), but maybe it is more
than just a useless program. If there is a better was to disable this Dr.
Watson thing, please let me know. Mucking around using regedit is not my
cup of tea!

Renaming the file won't work. Windows File Protection will quietly put
a copy back from one of several source points. Best thing in your case
is to use Services.Msc and set the Error Reporting Service to Disabled.

I don't know if it was put back, but I no longer get this notice when I shut
down. :)
