Dvorak keyboard layout doesn't stick

I

Hi,

I'm trying to use the Dvoark keyboard layout (Control Panel > Regional
and Language Options > Languages tab > Details > Settings tab >
Installed services). The "United States-Dvoark" layout is installed,
and I have the Language bar in the taskbar, which shows "English
(United States)" and "United States-Dvoark" in the pop-up menu. But
often when I select "United States-Dvorak", many applications continue
to use the qwerty layout. Sometimes the check mark in the Language bar
menu has returned to "English (United States)"!

How can I make my keyboard layout stick to what I set it to??

Thanks.

While you are in the control panel
.... languages tab > Details > Settings
and you have added Dvorak to the list, go to the top window on that
screen labeled "Default Input Language" and select "United States
Dvorak" (Dvorak should then be BOLDED) then "OK" your way out.
Applications should then default to this when started but can be
changed with the language bar.

HTH,
John
