DVD's won't play after NVideo Update

Charles

I just went to the Microsoft Windows Update page and,
after I was told that there was a new "NVidia" Display
Driver (4.4.0.3) update ready for downloading, I stupidly
went and downloaded/installed it. Silly me.

Now when I try to play DVD's in any of the 3 Media player
programs on my Windows XP system (WinDVD, InterActual, And
Windows Media Player Version 9), all I get is a black
screen. (And just minutes before the update, I was
playing DVD's just fine in all three programs.) Not only
that, but now when I try to stop the DVD and then close
the program, the entire computer locks up. At this point
even Ctrl+Alt+Delete doesn't work, and I'm forced to
simply unplug the computer without powering down.

This is ridiculous. I've decided I don't care about the
stupid NVidia Driver update. I'd be content with some
instruction on how to "undo" the update I just installed--
make things go back to the way they were 2 hours ago.
