hi all.
DVDs are not being read in my windows xp, pentium 4 pc with 128 mb ram using
a samsung combo drive.i have power dvd software,. but it doesn't solve this
problem
how can i correct this? pls help.......

Are these burned DVDs or commercial DVDs?

Does it read CDs?

Does it read any DVDs?

yes it reads cds. but does not read any dvd(both commercial and burned)

The CD and DVD lasers are two different parts. Sounds like the DVD laser
has died. I have the same problem in the old notebook I'm using right now
and am trying to decide whether it's worth replacing it! If it were a
desktop I'd be a the PC store right now, since it's a notebook, it's not
quite as easy.

thanx cari
