Yes again with the dumb ones.
I have a new three week old Gateway with a double layer DVD, I am not
worried abou the double layer I can not get the DVD to work. I can burn CD's
but any time I try to copy to a DVD I get "sorry wrong format" What am I
doing wrong? How can I correct it?
Thank you...........

Are you using WinXP's native burning utility? There is no support at all in the
inbuilt burning for burning DVD media.

What DVD enabled application are you using to write to the DVD ?

I am not using any outside (anything that did not come with the computer)
software. What I have done is first copy then paest to drive E:/ that always
comes up to burn a CD. In itune I can only burn a CD.
Do I have to buy some other progran? I have Nero but it is the comes with
the computer program and will not burn DVD's.
Thank you

Have you tried updating Nero?

If the computer is less than a month old and the DVD that came with your system
is a combo DVD/CD burner and if Nero came packaged with it then Nero is probably
Nero Express 6.

If all of the above is true, then you may not be familiar with Nero. All you
have to do is select the DVD recorder. You should have three choices, i.e., DVD,
CD, and image recorder. You probably have it set on the CD recorder, which
cannot accept a DVD media disc.

Check it out and then let us know.

Yes most to all of you were correct I did have to update Nero. Thank you for
the help I will try to learn and check before asking.
