when I play a dvd or a audio cd the sound as well as the video is very bad.
It's like there is not enough memory to perform the task. I'm using windows
media player 10, and tried playing it in power cinema as well. Media player
is worse then power cinema. What do I do?

How is the sound on other Windows applications? Is this an onboard
soundchip or separate graphics card and do you have the latest drivers for
the audio device?

the sound is fine with other windows applications. I have a notebook, so all
hardware is internal. I tried to update the drivers, but after trying to
update I was told that the latest drivers are already installed. When I open
mydvd software, I get the message: "mydvd has detected that DMA is disabled
for these hard drives or recording devices on this system -slimtype DVDRW
SOSW-833S."
How do enable this, and could this be the problem?

thanx Cari, the website totally solved my problem. It was my DMA setting.
