Steve

I have added another dvd writer drive to my pc, but it
only recognises the second drive and not the original
drive.
Can anyone tell me how to change the bios, so that I can
use both cd roms.
Thanx in advance, Steve

Steve,

My guess would be there is a problem with the jumpers on the drives. Can you
list the jumper settings? Also, to get into the BIOS you're going to hit
either DEL or F1 or F2 or F10 (or maybe another key) during boot... On
machines i'm not familiar with (if it has a power-save monitor), I just
press all of the aforementioned keys.

Best Regards,

Hi, Steve.

When the computer is booting, BEFORE it ever gets to the point of starting
to load Windows, does it list all your HDs? And your DVDs? If it lists one
DVD but not the other, then your problem is not in Windows. You must go
back and check the hardware (cables, jumpers, BIOS settings).

What make and model computer do you have? Some (Dell, for example) don't
normally let you see these opening screens. They hide them with their own
corporate logo instead, and you may need to press Esc or some other key to
see what's going on behind the screen (like the Wizard of Oz). If you
mention what computer you have, someone here should be able to recognize it
and give you some specific advice on how to see that information.
