dvd won't play

This pc was running windows 95. I upgraded to winXP. The
problem is that it will not play dvds. It reads all cds
but no dvds. It worked fine before i upgraded the os.
Anyone know what the problem is? I have installed many
different dvd players but none of them work. WMP will
load the dvd but it encounters a problem. Any help will
be greatly appreciated, Thanks
